Will Twitter’s Location Addition Force Executive’s Hand?
Twitter announced today their plans on adding location-aware feature.
We’re gearing up to launch a new feature which makes Twitter truly location-aware. A new API will allow developers to add latitude and longitude to any tweet. Folks will need to activate this new feature by choice because it will be off by default and the exact location data won’t be stored for an extended period of time. However, if people do opt-in to sharing location on a tweet-by-tweet basis, compelling context will be added to each burst of information.
This new Twitter feature will be off by default. But I still have some concerns.
Many businesses as well as government agencies banned access to social networking sites. The Department of Defense is already debating the benefits vs. risks of social network sites. If fear the addition of location to Twitter will force Pentagon officials and other businesses to ban Twitter.

That’s impossible, right? Apple never used to be quite that. I am old enough to remember the very first one like that even had pointer recognition AND two clickable buttons, forget all this stuff they have now.
I am impressed by the way you mastered this topic. It is not often I come across a website with enthralling articles like yours. I will note your feed to stay up to date with your forthcoming updates. I like it and do keep up the solid work.
