Basic requirements for a website
There are three elements required in order to have a website. I can help you obtain any of these services.
- Domain name
In short, a domain name is what you type in the address box of the web browser (e.g. google.com). There are several companys that provide domain name services. An important part of their service is pointing your domain name to your web host. You may rent the use of the name from a variety of companys starting at around $10 a year. - Hosting
A web host is a company that has a computer on which you store your web pages. They also provide you with a variety of other services which I can explain to you if desired. Hosting services start at around $55 a year but can increase significantly depending on your site requirements. - Web pages
Now that you have a web host to store your information and a domain name pointing to the location of your information. You need web pages to display your information. A collection of web pages, linked together is your website.
Site Updates & Additions
Gone are the days when web site owners needed to pay webmaster for every update or addition. With todays technology, everyone is capable of updating their website. With a properly designed site, adding a new page or changing the entire look of your website takes only a few mouse clicks.
SMS Advertising
Wouldn’t it be nice if you could send a text message to your customers cell phones? What about to only a select group of customers? And for no wireless provider charges?
I can setup your website so customers may register to receive SMS messages from you. You can then send a message to everyone that has registered or to a targeted group that you specify.
E-Mail Marketing
Spam, spam, and more spam. We all hate it, but we live with it because E-mail is still the preferred method of receiving wanted information. Don’t let this marketing tool go to waste. Customers are more likely to signup for email updates if instructions to cancel are easy to locate. A properly designed site will send updates on specific information without requiring customers to signup to regular email updates. And you will not need to manage the subscriptions!
Social Media
MySpace, Facebook, and Twitter may seem daunting, but they are out there and the public is eating them up. You do not need to spend time updating every social media site in order to take advantage of them. I can setup your site to do that for you!
